DJ Vajra

The name Vajra strikes fear into the hearts of DJs in the battle realm. His skills have earned him many accolades over the years including becoming the 2002 WSTC World Champion, winning 4 DMC titles, and earning a coveted spot in the Allies All-Star Beatdown World Finals in London, England.

Before beginning his decorated battle career, DJ Vajra became well known for spinning discs on Colorado radio. During his time spent as resident DJ on "Basementalism" the show earned syndication to a worldwide audience.

When Tablist magazine reviewed his classic CD, titled "Saul Good the Mixtape", they were blown away, stating "Vajra makes this one a head nodder. Interspersed with funky-ass breaks and superfly scratches, this one definitely gets heavy rotation." Since the release of DJ Vajra's newest CD "The Hydef Mixtape", it has set a new standard of quality and creativity amongst a field that sorely lacks both of these vital components. Thousands of copies of these CD's have been sold throughout North America, Japan, and Europe.

Crowds have been amazed by his live performances, sharing the spotlight with such legendary acts as RUN DMC, Digable Planets, Common, and Mos Def. Vajra's main goal is to continuously push the envelope of what can be done with turntables.

DJ Vajra is constantly touring the globe with Los Angeles based group The Procussions. They have rocked shows all over the world, including gigs with Arrested Development in London, The Roots in Amsterdam, a Blue Note tour in Japan, and all across North America with A Tribe Called Quest on the 2K7 Bounce Tour. With DJ Vajra, turntable techniques are always heavily showcased, whether it's during The Pro's performance, or hitting the stage as a solo artist.
